About the Opportunity

IMT Precision has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Inventory Specialist, based in Ingersoll, ON.

Reporting to and supporting the Materials Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of inventory control.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for accurately tracking, stocking, and managing inventory levels to support operational efficiency and productivity.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting regular inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels
  • Monitoring inventory levels and reorder products as needed to prevent stockouts
  • Coordinating with purchasing and receiving departments for timely delivery and receipt of inventory
  • Utilizing inventory management software to track and manage inventory movement
  • Developing and implementing efficient inventory management processes and procedures
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies in inventory counts or documentation
  • Assisting in the development of inventory forecasts and budget planning
  • Collaborating with other departments to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs

More About You

To qualify, you will need a Bachelor's degree or college diploma in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in inventory management or a similar role.

Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.  

IMT employees must meet Canadian Controlled Goods Program security requirements; therefore, it is required for you to undergo a Criminal Records Check.

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of materials procedures, inventory control, cycle counting, and warehousing strategies
  • Hold an APICS Certification (asset)
  • Proven experience with financial planning and procurement processes (assets)
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Familiarity with supply chain management principles and practices
  • Understanding of compliance regulations related to inventory and warehousing 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to work additional hours per business needs
