About the Opportunity

IMT Precision has an exciting opportunity for full-time Production Supervisor - Defence/OEM roles, based in Ingersoll, ON. This role may involve a 2-week rotating shift pattern, which includes midnights, mornings, and daytime shifts.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager - Defence/OEM, you will provide leadership and direction to a team of 45 - 50 hourly unionized employees.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for directing the production activities of the department to meet company goals and objectives in the areas of cost, quality, safety, quantity, training, and delivery.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Directing human and physical resources across three shift rotations
  • Ensuring production processes meet efficiencies, department requirements, and throughput
  • Guaranteeing quality products through SPC/OPC problem solving and corrective action processes
  • Meeting customer delivery requirements, managing inventory levels, and adhering to budget guidelines
  • Providing job training and coaching, while ensuring compliance with the Collective Agreement
  • Administering company policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Conducting monthly Health and Safety talks and participating in the recruitment process
  • Recommending strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs

More About You

To qualify, you will need an Industrial Management Certificate or Supervisor training, with 3+ years' of Manufacturing, Press or Forging experience.

Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.  

IMT employees must meet Canadian Controlled Goods Program security requirements; therefore, the following is required:

  • Ability to undergo a Criminal Records Check
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance to the minimum security level of Reliability Status
  • A valid First-Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Knowledge of manufacturing machinery/assembly processes

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:

  • Familiarity with SPC/OPC
  • Demonstrated Understanding of Labour Relations and the Collective Agreement
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Proven understanding of WHMIS
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
