About the Opportunity

IMT Precision has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Quality Control Technician, based in Ingersoll, Ontario. This role involves a 2-week rotating shift pattern, which includes midnight (11:30 pm-7:30 am), morning (7:30 am - 3:30 pm), and daytime (3:30 pm - 11:30 pm) shifts.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting production by ensuring quality standards are maintained and immediate corrective actions are implemented in case of non-conformities.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for coordinating the segregation of suspect material, reviewing inspection activities, and maintaining quality records to ensure the integrity and compliance of the production process.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Initiating actions to prevent product, process, or quality system non-conformance
  • Coordinating the segregation of suspect material and ensuring identification procedures are followed
  • Reviewing production line inspection activities and implementing corrective measures
  • Maintaining records of inspection and process audits
  • Participating in investigations and training evaluations
  • Performing audits as planned
  • Responding to major nonconformities requiring production stoppage
  • Initiating immediate corrective actions and approving production restart after compliance verification

More About You

To qualify, you will need 1-3+ years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment, with a Post-Secondary Education or Quality Assurance Certification (CQE/QCA), or equivalent experience.

Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.  

IMT employees must meet Canadian Controlled Goods Program security requirements; therefore, it is required for you to undergo a Criminal Records Check.

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
  • Extensive knowledge of gauge selection and functionality
  • Proven experience with various inspection equipment
  • Experience conducting product, process, and systems audits
  • Strong computer literacy including use of Outlook, Word, and Excel
