About the Opportunity

IMT Precision has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Industrial Electrician, based in Ingersoll, ON. We operate on a 2-week rotating shift pattern of three shifts, which includes the day shift (7.30am to 3.30pm), afternoon shift (3.30pm to 11.30pm), and evening shift (11:30pm to 7:30am) from Monday to Friday, with premium pay for afternoon and evening shifts.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting specialized and generalized electrical equipment and systems in our facility.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, including PLCs and related controls and equipment
  • Interfacing and programming PLCs for automation production lines, involving Allen Bradley and Siemens systems, both onsite and remotely
  • Installing, wiring, and troubleshooting new and existing equipment, with a focus on OKUMA, FUJI, and MIYANO CNC machines
  • Ensuring compliance with the Ontario Electrical Code and maintaining safety standards in all operations
  • Developing standard PLC structures, programming for PLCs, and integrating YASKAWA Robotics for machine control
  • Designing safety PLC structures for machine control and programming data collection for historical analysis
  • Programming and maintaining HMI for machine interfaces, as well as motion control and VFD applications
  • Providing mechanical and pneumatic support in control processes and understanding hydraulic systems for piercing and forming
  • Contributing to continuous improvement, cost reduction activities, and developing preventive maintenance procedures
  • Conducting all activities with a professional attitude, focusing on personal responsibility and team interaction for continuous improvement
  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment, identifying design weaknesses, and implementing improvements
  • Evaluating processes for uptime and repeatability, and collaborating with production teams to resolve downtime issues and enhance productivity

More About You

To qualify for this role, you must be a certified 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Construction Electrician, possess a minimum of a Secondary School Diploma or high school equivalent, and ideally have 5+ years of related experience.

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in high-level automation manufacturing
  • Possession of a Red Seal certification (asset)
  • Proficiency in PLCs and robotics (asset)
  • Commitment to ongoing education to align with evolving manufacturing technologies and company needs
  • Willingness and ability to follow strict regulations and security protocols
  • Ability to work in environments with dirt and noise typical of manufacturing settings
  • Ability to undergo a Police Information Check and Criminal Record Review Act Check
