About the Opportunity
IMT Precision has an exciting opportunity for full-time Forklift Operator / Materials Handler roles, based in Ingersoll, ON. We operate on a 2-week rotating shift pattern of three shifts, which includes morning (7.30am to 3.30pm), afternoon (3.30pm to 11.30pm), and evening (11:30pm to 7:30am) shifts from Monday to Friday, with premium pay for afternoon and evening shifts.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling, transportation, and storage of materials within the production facility.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for the safe operation of lift trucks to move, load, and store materials, as well as supporting inventory control processes and maintaining equipment.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safely driving and operating various types of lift trucks (e.g., counterbalances, reach truck, pallet jack) to transport goods and materials
- Loading and unloading trucks, containers, or storage areas while ensuring proper placement and storage of goods
- Assisting with inventory control by scanning barcodes, tracking material movement, and moving goods to designated storage areas
- Following all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations, including wearing PPE and maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Conducting routine checks on forklifts and other equipment to ensure safe operation and reporting maintenance issues
- Stacking products or materials securely to maximize storage space and prevent damage
- Collaborating with warehouse, shipping, supervisors, and other departments to streamline material handling processes
- Maintaining logs of equipment usage, material movements, and any issues encountered during operations

More About You
To qualify, you will need a high school diploma, ideally 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, and proficiency in operating various types of lift trucks. Certification is not required as in-house training will be provided, though prior experience is considered an asset.
Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.
The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs and good computer skills
- Experience with inventory control processes and barcode scanning
- Capability to handle physically demanding tasks and work effectively in noisy, dusty, fast-paced manufacturing environments
- Commitment to maintaining safety and efficiency standards, with knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety protocols
- Flexibility in shift work, with the ability to adapt to rotating schedules
- Ability to undergo a Police Information Check and Criminal Record Review Act Check, with full consideration given to all outcomes
