About the Opportunity

IMT Group is looking for a full-time Corporate HR Generalist based in Kitchener, Ontario, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Reporting to the Corporate HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a wide range of human resources functions across the organization, ensuring compliance with policies and employment laws while fostering a positive and efficient workplace.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for managing HR administration, recruitment and onboarding, payroll, employee relations, training and development, compliance, and supporting corporate HR initiatives.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining and updating employee records in ADP Workforce Now, while optimizing its use across the organization
  • Overseeing payroll processing and ensuring accurate submission of employee data
  • Preparing and managing HR documentation, including contracts, policy acknowledgements, and employee status changes
  • Collaborating with hiring managers to manage recruitment, screening, and onboarding processes
  • Serving as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and supporting positive employee relations
  • Coordinating training programs and managing learning platforms such as LinkedIn Learning
  • Ensuring compliance with employment laws and supporting the communication of HR policies and procedures
  • Contributing to HR projects and corporate initiatives, including employee communications and process improvements

About You

To qualify, you will need proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and a solid understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and compliance requirements, with 2–5 years of experience in an HR generalist role, ideally within a manufacturing environment. A Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Human Resources or a related field is also required.

Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.  

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:

  • Knowledge of payroll processes with the ability to oversee and improve systems
  • Familiarity with unionized environments and employee relations best practices
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
  • Experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and training programs
  • Analytical ability to generate and interpret HR metrics and provide recommendations
  • Initiative to make independent decisions while escalating appropriately
  • Adaptability to pivot quickly, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-changing environment
  • Demonstrated creativity and forward-thinking approach to process improvements and HR strategies
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
