About the Opportunity

IMT Precision has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Project Manager – Defence Capital Projects & Facility Development role, based in Ingersoll, ON. This role offers flexibility to travel to project sites, vendor locations, and partner facilities as needed throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting to the President, you will lead complex defence capital programs, oversee major facility development activities, and manage project execution from pre-award tendering and proposal development through to post-award delivery and contract closeout. This pivotal role will involve managing contracts for both the Department of National Defence (DND) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), ensuring full compliance with technical, quality, and security standards.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for guiding multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring all deliverables align with contractual, regulatory, and operational goals. You will also play a key leadership role in developing and mentoring a high-performing team of project coordinators, engineers, planners, and support staff while driving continuous improvement across all phases of project execution.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the full project lifecycle, from pre-award tendering and technical proposal development through to contract mobilisation, execution, and closeout
  • Managing DND and DoD tenders, RFPs, and technical proposals, ensuring compliance with solicitation requirements and company governance
  • Overseeing capital project and facility development activities, including building modifications, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installation, and commissioning
  • Directing multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, quality, and administration functions to achieve project goals
  • Developing and managing detailed project budgets, schedules, risk registers, and earned value metrics
  • Serving as the primary customer interface for DND, DoD, and prime contractors regarding project performance and issue resolution
  • Ensuring adherence to all defence-related quality and security requirements, including CGP, ITAR/EAR, and ISO/AS9100 compliance
  • Driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

More About You

To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, along with 10+ years of progressive experience managing complex technical and capital projects in a defence manufacturing or industrial production environment.

Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada. To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.  

The following are required:

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required to various project and vendor locations

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:

  • Understanding of defence contract structures, including Firm Fixed Price, CPFF, and IDIQ
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing both pre-award and post-award project phases
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale CAPEX programs involving facility development, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installation, and commissioning
  • Strong knowledge of industrial security, defence compliance, and regulatory frameworks such as ITAR/EAR and ISO/AS9100
  • Expertise in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
  • Proficiency with MS Project, ERP systems, and project performance tools
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Advanced degree and/or PMP certification or equivalent project management credential (assets)
